Country File: INDIA
The incredible diversity in this country is unmatched anywhere else in the world. It’s immense size, population, and plethora of temples, sacred sites, abandoned cities, and ancient ruins can drive the newcomer into sensory overload. However, in this vast array of astonishing monuments are millions of people searching. They are searching for hope around every corner. With almost as many gods as there are people, it is our prayer that they find hope in the One who came to bring them life: Jesus.
Team members will be flying into Chennai or Hyderabad, and then traveling to the mission site in Ongole. The main focus of this trip is village evangelism, ministry to kids in child development centers (including those with special needs), youth meetings, and other opportunities such as worship training, mercy outreaches to the poor, and Festivals (outdoor meetings with live worship, preaching, drama, etc.)
Pastors' Conference (Foreign missions veterans only)
Team members will be instructing large groups of Indian Pastors. Each conference will last for 3 days, and there will be a minimum of 3 sessions taught daily. You will also be able to visit several village churches and preach, pray with the people and Pastors, and see what the Pastors in the conference face everyday.
Topics for teaching will be assigned well in advance of the trip. There are many Pastors and leaders in this area of the world who do not have the training resources available to North Americans. This will be a very exciting, rewarding and intense trip. The selection process for team members will require an interview with GI executive staff.
