Country File: PHILIPPINES
From world-class beaches and international diving spots to the breath-taking nature sights and the lively regional festivals around the country, the Philippine islands rank among the top tourist destinations. It is known for its people's cheerful spirit and warm hospitality. English is widely spoken and read.
Though hailed as a Christian nation in Asia, majority of the population lacks a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. National interest in righteous governance during 2010 elections may indicate approaching revival. Indigenous people groups still need reaching out.
