The last couple of months since my last team left has been crazy. It has been a difficult learning curve with the Peruvian culture and its lack order and structure when comes to do ministry. The lack attention to time and deadlines is a normality here, but one that needs to change. It was very hard for me to see a way forward for the church here in Peru. However, after talking with pastor hope is on the horizon. Though we have taken steps to mobilize 300 people for discipleship and outreach, the congregation is only doing it when it is convenient for them, and also because pastor is setting up new rules to get people involved. This has been very frustrating to see that the church is basically complacent with where it is. Yes we have leadership who is striving forward, but the general person attending the church doesn’t want to grow past their comfort zone.
Because of this the leadership will be meeting for the next three months to figure out how we can address these issues we have in the church. I am excited to see how God teaches us and what He is going to do in the church here in Cusco. Please be in prayer for us here in Cusco as we brainstorm and pray for God to show us the way forward.
