About Mission Trips to Nicaragua

Known as the ‘Land of Lakes and Volcanoes’ Nicaragua is breathtaking everywhere you turn. Seeing the smoking Volcán Concepción, a near perfect cone-shaped volcano, in the background of the silvery, pure Lago de Nicaragua is truly a vision of paradise. With all its beauty, Nicaragua is considered one of the poorest countries in Central America and the Western Hemisphere. Thousands of people lack the basic necessities of life: food, clothes, medical care, education – but most of all, many have not heard the message of hope in a Savior that can heal their broken hearts.

Mission Trip Info

Airfare and In-country Transportation

At Global Infusion, we are committed to taking care of as many logistical details as possible, so you, the short-term missionary, can focus on your INFUSION ADVENTURE. We coordinate all the airline travel booking as it is included in the trip cost. We also are responsible for the organization of all in-country transportation.

Passports & Visas

A valid passport is required. If you do not have a valid passport, please click here to obtain one. A Visa is also required to enter Nicaragua; however, this can be obtained at the airport upon arrival. In order to expedite the process, a Global Infusion staff member will guide you through the steps of getting all the necessary paperwork ready ahead of time.

Immunizations

A recent tetanus, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Typhoid are all recommended. If you have any questions or concerns about your immunizations, please contact your family physician before they are administered.

The team will be staying in a large house in the city of Granada for the duration of the trip. The house is furnished with beds, sheets, pillows and a towel. There will be different opportunities for food, ranging from eating home-cooked meals at the house where you are staying, to visiting Nicaraguan restaurants, or even eating with villagers. Clean water or bottled water is always available.

When the work of ministry is done, it is time to have some fun. Excursion possibilities include zip-lining, historic tours, boat rides, visiting Apoyo Lagoon (Crater Lake), and souvenir shopping in Masaya.

All other information, including what to pack, weather conditions, country history, fundraising techniques, health recommendations, and cross-cultural travel tips are all included in the INFUSION ADVENTURES manual you will receive once your application and deposit has been turned in to Global Infusion.

$2,000- $2,400 per person (depending on team size, length of trip, season of the year)
