About Mission Trips to USA: knoxville

Knoxville is a city in the U.S. state of Tennessee, and the county seat of Knox County. Knoxville is home of the flagship campus of the University of Tennessee, whose sports teams, called the “Volunteers” (or “Vols”), are extremely popular in the surrounding area. Knoxville is one of the largest cities in the Appalachian region and is one of the gateways to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Outreach

Teams to Knoxville, Tennessee will be working with our city’s very own Knoxville Dream Center. Opportunities for outreach include ministering to the homeless by providing food, clothing and prayer, volunteering in local Title One schools, assisting in KDC’s warehouse, and reaching specific inner-city communities in USDA “Food Deserts” through one of ten mobile food trucks. Be the hands, feet, and voice of Jesus in a very practical way to those who are lost, abused, sick, alone, addicted, and without hope.

Most teams drive in to Knoxville, however, if you and your group would like to fly, Global Infusion can arrange flights directly into Knoxville, or one of the surrounding major airports. If this is an option your group would like to pursue, please contact our office for more information including a flight cost quote. (additional to the trip cost).
Teams stay right on the campus of the Knoxville Dream Center. Breakfast is in the KDC “dorm,” other meals are often prepared daily at KDC and teams can eat in the warehouse facility, unless on the road doing outreach, where it may be more conducive to eat out.

All other information, including what to pack, weather conditions, country history, fundraising techniques, health recommendations, and travel tips are all included in the INFUSION ADVENTURES manual you will receive once your application and deposit has been turned in to Global Infusion.
