Are you spiritually awake?
When Jesus was transfigured on the mountain, the Bible says, “But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep; and when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him.” (Luke 9:32). That one part jumped out at me: they didn’t see clearly until they woke up.

The same is true for us today. It’s easy to drift and become unfocused on what God has actually called us to do. We all have busy schedules, good intentions, and sometimes go on spiritual autopilot. But when God awakens our hearts, we begin to feel what He feels for those who have never heard the Gospel.

At GI HQ, we regularly receive messages from our contacts, Pastors and missionaries around the world:
“We need help.” “We need training.” “We need someone to come.” Of course we are not the answer – Jesus is; yet through His grace, He uses those who will say ‘yes’ to accomplish His purposes. These requests are reminders that people are spiritually dead without Christ, and access to the Gospel is still tragically unequal.

When we are awake, we act. We pray. We give. We go. We especially go where the need is greatest and trust God to do what only He can do.
With our last team of 2025 currently on the field, I still pray: Lord, awaken us again. Help us see both Your glory, and the urgency of Your global mission to reach the lost.
