As if foreign travel doesn’t have enough challenges already, add in all that 2020 has brought us. International travel plus C-19 protocols makes for a very interesting experience. That being said, the more difficult the situation is in the natural, the more glory the Lord will receive when there are victories.
I am happy to report that we have just returned from the country of Guatemala with one of our GI mission teams. We were able to minister to many people through prayer, evangelism, encouragement and distribution of food in areas that are quite destitute. Our team traveled in and out of the country between two massive hurricanes. While the aftermath of each storm caused tremendous flooding, and bridges we cross to be washed away or destroyed, our team was completely unharmed and remained healthy.
While I was on the field, I thought of the verse in Isaiah 41:13 that says, “For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’”
Fear can paralyze us from a lot of progress. It can potentially stop us from doing what God asked us to do. Life will always have barriers to success. Yet I believe if we follow these three steps, we will truly see God’s will done in our lives and in the world:
1) HEAR from the Lord // 2) ACT on His commands // 3) TRUST in His Faithfulness
This is what we did, and this is what we will continue to do. Pray for us as we are sending out more teams and missionaries in both 2020 and 2021. Your prayers and giving are opening doors and seeing lives changed!
