Compel.
If it were not for Jesus and His love, I wonder if we would be driven to reach the lost out of mere sympathy. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that One died for all, and therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again.”
At our core, without Jesus, we are selfish and self-serving. We are born with a sinful nature, and our innate desires lead us to do whatever is best for us. This is why evangelism in our home country, and missions in foreign countries, are both counter-intuitive to our nature.
Yet there is hope! We DO have the love of Christ inside of us, and it is through His love and strength that we can walk every day in our Kingdom assignments. Jesus Himself gave us a mandate: “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.’” Luke 14:23.
This month we have had teams in Peru, Guatemala, Poland, Costa Rica and Japan. Thank you to all of you have prayed and financially supported our short-term team members. If you could only see in-person what God is doing through your partnership, you would be amazed. Lives are being transformed, and we are seeing Heaven’s numbers increase. Thank you!
