Diaspora. It means to be scattered from your homeland—to live somewhere you never planned to live because circumstances beyond your control forced you there. For nearly a million Ukrainians, Poland is now that place. The war is STILL raging. Families are STILL separated. Lives are STILL being lost. Yet much of the world has moved on.
Global Infusion is serving alongside our Ukrainian Pastor and his family, themselves displaced by the war, as well as a local Polish Pastor. Our teams come alongside BOTH—reaching displaced Ukrainians and Polish people with the Gospel, strengthening the local Church, and continuing to go back. Because this is MISSIONS.
Humanitarian aid matters. Food, housing and caring for traumatized families matter. But if we meet physical needs and never introduce people to Jesus, we have only helped them temporarily. War scatters people. The Gospel PURSUES them.
Acts 8:4 says, “Those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word.” What the enemy intended to silence, the Church actually multiplied its witness. Could God do it again? Absolutely. And He is.
A displaced Ukrainian Pastor is now ministering to the diaspora, while a Polish Pastor reaches his own people. GI serves alongside BOTH—evangelizing, discipling and strengthening the Church. This is more than refugee relief. It is GREAT COMMISSION opportunity. The world may forget. We cannot. They have been SCATTERED. We have been SENT.
