When Things Don’t Go as Planned

In life there may be unexpected change, sickness, tragedy and loss. As believers of Christ how must we respond ? Will we begin to lack faith and lose sight on our goals or will we place our eyes on the Lord in this time of great need?

If you keep up with my blogs or you receive a newsletter from me, you may know I have recently moved back home because of this virus. Covid-19 has caused a major bump in our schedules as interns. Classes are done online, many important events have been canceled, and internationally travel has been put on hold. Trust me this is very disappointing. We have worked so hard the past 8 months to begin this amazing journey God has called us toward. But I feel as if God is challenging me. He is saying, “How much can you handle? You will need to be prepared for the harvest that is before you”. Now it is up to me to chose to how to respond.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest IF we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)”  The key phrase is “if we don’t give up”. Some people may give up and turn to sin and rebellion because they grow impatient, leading to delay of their blessing. They don’t see the harvest, Not because God was never planning to give it to them, But because they couldn’t wait for it.

It’s like watering a seed and then plucking it from the ground before it is able to even grow. What a waste! Our blessing must a have firm foundation. We must pray and be mindful of the tactics the enemy throws our way. Sometimes we are the ones postponing our blessings because of fear, doubt or our own insecurity! We must know only God can sustain us! We need to turn to God our Father through His son Jesus, and be in the word of God and prayer daily so we can be spiritually and physically ready for the storms of unexpected incidents in life. This season we are going through will pass, but other things will come up and we have to stay close to God through it all and let him always be our guide. Believe that we will see the fruit of this time and come over it stronger then before.
